Five for Friday (the Philly edition)

today's five for friday is brought to you from sunny delaware. i have been to the beach, gotten sunburned and eaten a crabcake.  yum!  i wanted to share 5 photos from our tour around Philly yesterday.  here goes.

  1. some Amish goodies from Reading Terminal Market.  shoo fly pie, molasses cookies and sticky buns....ah, the childhood memories (i grew up about 30 minutes from Lancaster PA).
  2. the 2000th mural.  we learned on our tour that when someone gets caught doing graffiti they are required to help paint a mural.  the city has about 3000 murals.  cool idea.
  3. Franks bar.  this was a speakeasy and there are famous Frank's painted on the walls outside.  cool.
  4. the "Rocky" steps.  there are 72 steps....interestingly enough these are not the steps to the main entrance of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  i thought there were more than 72.  Rocky made it  look like there were more.
  5. sensible walking shoes.   i figured that the flip flops i usually wear in the summer would not be the best thing to wear walking around the city.
that's all i have for now.
xoxo
