So I am sitting in a hotel room

Sitting in our hotel room because IT WON'T STOP RAINING!!!!!   such crappy weather.  we took a quick trip to asheville, nc since we couldn't go to my class reunion in PA.  it just didn't work out. 

we drove here friday and went to the Biltmore yesterday.  it is absolutely beautiful.  we took the rooftop tour in addition to the regular house tour and i am so glad that we did.  it was gorgeous.  such a spectacular view!  then it was lunch at the Deerpark Restaurant on the estate and a winery tour.  we had planned to go back today to take some pictures since i forgot to make sure the slr's battery was charged!  duh!!  all photos had to be taken with the point and shoot.  still got some great shots.  also wanted to walk through the gardens.  hoping the rain will stop and we can do that before we head home tomorrow.

we also went to Chimney Rock park and took the elevator up to Chimney rock.  it is about 260 feet up the mountain.  also spectacular views from there.

the next time we come we are planning to stay at the Grove Park Inn and Spa.  it is a beautiful place and we would probably not even leave there.  a definite must see when travelling to Asheville.

all in all, it has been a nice trip.  a little getaway.  just hanging out together.  in the end that's all that matters.  rain or no rain.  just spending time together is what is most important.
